Senior Licensed Practical Nurse
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This LPN is needed to provide hands on nursing coverage for the medically involved individuals who reside in Cove Rd IRA. Nursing oversite will be provided by the Registered Nurse 1, with administrative oversite provided by the Registered Nurse Supervisor 1.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
o Assist with nursing tasks within their scope of practice o Observes, monitors and records individual's symptoms and conditions to obtain and provide information for diagnosis and treatment o Attends to individual's personal needs, including activities of daily living and hygiene tasks. o Provides staff with guidelines, instructions, and standard of care. o Participates in staff development activities to maintain and enhance skills and trains staff in basic care activities. o Ensure that all medications and treatments required on that shift are performed and implemented as written, and the data is recorded. o Provides documentation as needed o Ensures that the following documentation is accurate and available such as The Ready to Go, monthly MAR, Consents, Current Scripts o Maintains tickler for OTC expiration dates and OTC orders for the individuals o Monitors/supervises individuals with insulin administration, and with PO daily medications/treatments o Provided first aide to individuals and monitor vital signs as needed and reporting to the Registered Nurse 1 their findings o Acts a liaison between the IRA Residential staff and the Registered Nurse1. o Other duties as assigned
