POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This Habilitation Specialist 1 (HS1) for Area 3 Team 2 is to provide Residential Habilitation Services for 3 residences in the Sinpatch Team that are converted from ICF to IRA, as well as to help provide coverage for Res Hab vacancies or extended leaves. The individuals residing with Taconic DDSO currently receive support services from a total of 7 Residential Habilitation Specialist in Area 2 and 3. Including homes that need to be covered due to vacant items, caseloads have a total of up to 38 individuals with current census in each home.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
o Write, oversee implementation, and ensure data collection for Safeguard Summary Plans and Staff Action Plans o Train all IRA staff in implementation of SSP's and SAP's, data collection, and continuing notes to substantiate Res-Hab billing o Rectify Res-Hab billing issues with RSFO o Provide and/or ensure training of all IRA staff as needed in response to DQI audits, regulations, and their roles in Medicaid Compliance. o Write, revise as needed and oversee implementation of individuals annual Personal Expenditure Plans and ensure spending and documentation meets regulation and fulfills PEPs o Follow up with house managers and assist house managers in training and supervising direct care staff in the areas of individual care to ensure standards of care o Participate in DQI and Medicaid Compliance audits, implement and oversee implementation of corrective actions as need o Other tasks as assigned by supervisor. NOTE:
You must have a valid driver's license to apply as travel is a part of the duties involved in this position. This may include a state-owned vehicle, as available, or the employee's own car. An employee who uses his/her own car will be reimbursed at current negotiated rates.

Salary Range:
From $50715 to $64319 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Reachable on the Civil Service Eligible List for Habilitation Specialist 1 OR Have permanent service as a Habilitation Specialist 1 OR Eligible for 70.1 transfer to a Habilitation Specialist 1 title OR Eligible candidates must possess a bachelor's degree or higher in a human services field A degree in a human service field includes the professional disciplines of audiology, community mental health, nursing, nutrition, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, vocational counseling, social work, speech/language pathology, and therapeutic recreation (including concentrations in art, creative arts, dance, drama, music, or physical education.) Also included are related academic disciplines associated with the study of human behavior (e.g., gerontology, human services, sociology, speech communication); or human skills development (e.g., counseling/guidance, education, human development.) Examples of non-qualifying degrees include but are not limited to criminal justice, political science, liberal arts, and business. OPERATIONAL PREFERENCE:
A Qualified Intellectual Disorder Professional - designation requires one year's experience working with people with a developmental disability AND a bachelor's degree or higher in a human services field (including, but not limited to:
sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling or psychology). The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
