Training Specialist 1- Mental Hygiene SG 18* Training Specialist Trainee 1 Mental Hygiene- equivalent to SG13 (Successful completion of a two-year Traineeship leads to a Training Specialist 1- MH)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Training Specialist 1 (MH) presents training programs to improve on-the-job knowledge skills and abilities of employees to better enable them to carry out the agency mission, including the care and treatment of vulnerable persons in the care and / or custody of the state. The TS1(MH) will develop and deliver training programs in our current environment, both in person and virtual classrooms.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Presents specific training courses in the agency's training program o Attain certification as a PROMOTE and First Aid/CPR AED Instructor o Identifies and assesses specific training needs by reviewing agency programs and by discussing staff and program requirements with program managers o Presents training courses in New Employee Orientation and annual required training by obtaining outside instructors or personally conducting course, and selecting audiovisual teaching aides o Must be able to facilitate online learning courses, experience utilizing WebEx, TEAMS, or other distance learning platforms o Evaluates training course using questionnaires, review of work reports or supervisory evaluation o Disseminates training announcements and information concerning educational opportunities o Informs program managers of available training and educational opportunities o Assists program managers and supervisors in developing on-the-job training programs o Reviews on-the job training programs with supervisors for relevance o Support the Developmental Assistant 1 traineeship program and ongoing supervisory training o Support direct care staff in the traineeship program NOTE:
You must have a valid driver's license to apply as travel is a part of the duties involved in this position. This may include a state-owned vehicle, as available, or the employee's own car. An employee who uses his/her own car will be reimbursed at current negotiated rates.

Salary Range:
From $48042 to $79425 Annually

Qualifications:
Candidates must currently be a permanent Training Specialist 1 Mental Hygiene OR be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list Transfer
Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the requirements of transfer via Section 70.1 or section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law. Advanced Placement If chosen, you may at the agency's discretion, be appointed to a higher level. You must inform the agency of any additional qualifications at your interview. For Trainee 2 you must also have:
1. One year of professional experience OR 2. A Juris Doctor, master's, or higher degree in a field related to the position being filled For Full performance Level you must have:
1. Two years of professional experience OR 2. A Juris Doctor, master's or higher degree in a field related to the position being filled and one year of professional experience Professional experience must be performing the duties of the full performance level position.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
