Trades Generalist

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
A Trades Generalist performs journey-level work in one trade, and skilled and semiskilled level work in a combination of other trades in the repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment. Incumbents may supervise others in maintenance, repair, installation, and construction activities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
o Performs a variety of carpentry related duties, including but not limited to installations and repairs of flooring, repair and adjustment of doors and hardware, stairs, railings, and replacement of ceiling tile. o Performs minor electrical duties including but not limited to replacing receptacles, light fixtures, and circuit breakers. o Repairs, installs, and maintains plumbing fixtures and appliances, including but not limited to sinks, showers, baths, commodes, dishwashers, domestic water, and drainage distribution systems. o Preforms a variety of painting related duties including but not limited to preparing surfaces, priming, and painting. o Performs maintenance, and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment including but not limited to bathroom exhaust fans, clothes dryers, sump pumps and generators o Requires daily travel within the district. May require travel within NY State to assist other districts with special projects. Position may require mentoring for the individuals that we serve.

Salary Range:
From $45867 to $55653 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Permanent/Contingent Perm Appointment Available Work schedule may vary based on operational need. Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of statutory hiring rate for ($44,354) and Mid-Hudson Adjustment ($1,513). The Mid-Hudson Adjustment ($1,513) is also added to job rate ($54,140). PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
o Working knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the trade or trades to which assigned. o Working knowledge of safety standards and procedures. o Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. o Ability to train and supervise others. o Candidate will be trained in the operation and maintenance procedures as related to Asbestos Containing Materials o Ability to read and interpret plans, codes, diagrams, architectural blueprints, and specifications. o Basic computer skills preferred. o Valid NYS Driver's License. MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled journey-level position, which would provide training that is equivalent to that given in an apprenticeship program. Apprentice training in a trade or training gained by the completion of technical courses in a trade at a school or institute may be substituted for the above experience on a year-for-year basis.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
